We were met at the airport in Addis Ababa by Fikadu and a few of the boys from the drop-in center. This is a place where street children can come for a bed, meal, clothes, etc. It is only a temporary stay and the children will either transition to the orphanage or be reunited with extended family. When the boys saw the crutches that we had brought for Yohannes, they asked if they were for him. The director, Fikadu, told them that the crutches were indeed for Yohannes and they replied, "Praise God!" Yohannes was leary of the crutches because he is so accumstomed to walking/hopping with a stick. We told him to practice and get used to them. We told him that we have seen people play soccer with these type of cruthes. Sure enough, as we were leaving we saw him "testing" the crutche with a soccer ball. Yohannes is wearing the white jacket in the pic.

Here we are in London with half of donations that we brought. Thank goodness for a 12 hour layover in London because our flight from Houston was 8 hours late!

just a quick note to let you know that we arrived safely in Addis Ababa. We made it through customs with EVERYTHING! We went straight to Hope for the Hopeless and started in. We are EXHAUSTED, so I can't promise that I will get pics up tonight, but I will try.
